Water Damage Mitigation & Restoration

  • Water damage mitigation involves reducing or preventing water damage caused by a plumbing issue, storm, or other flooding. Water damage restoration involves getting your property back into its original condition.

The longer water is allowed to seep into your property, the more damage it will cause to valuable objects such as flooring, rugs, and walls. This is why it is important to respond within the first 48 hours of flooding; we recommend treating any flooding like an emergency.

As soon as you are aware of flooding, stay calm and:

    • Call Rainbow Restoration of The Woodlands.
    • Shut down all water sources on your property.
    • Shut down the electrical breaker before touching, unplugging, or moving wet items.
    • Place aluminum foil underneath parts of furniture in contact with wet areas to prevent staining.
    • Lift curtains or furniture skirts away from water and wet areas.
    • Remove items that may stain wet carpets such as books, fabrics, shoes, or plants.

    Avoid doing the following:

    • Do not use your vacuum; this could result in equipment damage or electrical shock.
    • Do not put newspaper paths on the floor; the ink can stain carpets and floors.
    • Avoid walking on the carpet to prevent the spreading of damage.

What Sets Our Service Apart

Here in the NW Houston area, not all water damage restoration services are alike. Companies that only carry carpet drying equipment will fail to prevent water from spreading across your home. Water can travel through walls, under floors, and into window sills; sometimes, it may even leak to the floor below.

At Rainbow Restoration, our restoration technicians use more advanced and effective procedures such as Rapid Structural Drying to ensure the entire structure is dried as quickly as possible. We employ moisture meters – specialized equipment that locates water hiding within a structure and invisible to the eye. And we target specific areas with specialized tools that can actively extract water from any structure on your property.

Controlling humidity levels is also critical as objects and furniture can suffer additional damage by absorbing moisture in the air. When structures are not dried efficiently, they become a prime spot for mold, leading to additional mold removal services. We employ air movers and dehumidifiers to pull moisture into, and then out of, the air; this greatly enhances the drying process.

In addition to drying your property, our water damage restoration process can also sanitize and deodorize any affected areas and materials. You can rely on our expertise and top-of-the-line equipment to restore your home and get you back to your life.

If you’re dealing with flooding, don’t wait. Call Rainbow Restoration of The Woodlands right away. We’re proud to rescue and restore water damaged homes and businesses throughout Spring, Tomball, Cypress, The Woodlands, and the surrounding area – 24 hours a day.
